It's easy to learn how to play your Native American Flute. The construction of the flute makes blowing into it and producing sound simple. Anyone can play a melody the first time they pick up a flute. The way the Native American Flute is tuned makes this possible. The natural fingering position makes this a minor pentatonic flute. By always keeping this hole covered on your 6 hole flute, you are playing the same notes that are played on a 5 hole flute. There are many songs that are not played using the minor pentatonic scale. This is when the 6 hole native american flute is the more versatile instrument.

If you play only the notes that are made by fully opening or fully closing a hole on your native american flute, you can easily create a melody.
